Crafted in Istanbul from mid-20th-century vintage silk velvet, this one-of-a-kind low-top sneaker brings the electric romance of Rüstem Paşa to life, where historic Ottoman grandeur meets modern bohemian spirit. Luminous BLUE/GOLD/MULTI tones interweave across a soft, light-catching silk pile, beautifully framed by rich Turkish leather trim and a cushioned white rubber cupsole. Because every panel is hand-cut from a singular vintage carpet, no two pairs will ever share the exact same arrangement of hues—giving you a truly unrepeatable, limited-edition piece of wearable art.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Due to the delicate nature of the silk velvet fabric, please avoid wearing your sneakers in rain or wet conditions.

To remove dirt or dust, use a soft, delicate brush and gently brush in the direction of the velvet fibers. Avoid brushing against the grain or using excessive pressure, as this may scratch the fabric or permanently flatten its texture.

Rüstem Paşa — Hidden Treasures in the Heart of Istanbul

Beside Istanbul’s famous Spice Bazaar, in the bustling Eminönü district, lies the historic Rüstem Paşa Mosque. Surrounded by crowded market streets, small shops, and merchants selling everything from spices and textiles to household goods, this is one of the liveliest corners of the city. Here, the sounds, colors, and aromas of Istanbul come together in a way that feels wonderfully overwhelming.

The neighborhood is best known for the Egyptian Bazaar, also called the Spice Bazaar, and the maze of smaller shops and markets that extend into the surrounding streets. While visitors come for the famous sights, those willing to wander a little deeper can discover a different side of the area: wholesale stores, hidden textile shops, and remarkable bargains on everyday Turkish goods.

For me, Rüstem Paşa is special for two reasons. The first is the beautiful Rüstem Paşa Mosque, a historic architectural treasure that offers a moment of calm amid the constant movement of the markets. Its exquisite İznik tiles and intricate patterns make it one of Istanbul’s most memorable places to visit.

The second reason is more personal. This is where I began to feel like a local rather than just someone living in Istanbul. Discovering the smaller shops, learning where to find the best prices, and knowing which streets to explore for particular goods gave me a new appreciation for the city. Venture farther into the Spice Bazaar neighborhood, and you can find shops selling linens and textiles at prices that make the search worthwhile. Sometimes, the best discoveries are found just a few steps away from the busiest tourist paths.

What I love most about this area is its extraordinary variety. Historic architecture stands alongside busy commercial streets, traditional merchants work beside modern businesses, and every turn reveals something different. It is a place where you can admire centuries of history and then spend an afternoon hunting for an unexpected bargain.

That diversity is also what inspires The Streets of Istanbul. Like this neighborhood, our sneakers bring together different colors, patterns, textures, and personalities. No two discoveries are quite the same, and sometimes the most interesting treasures are the ones you have to search a little harder to find.

Rüstem Paşa reminds me that to know a city is not just to see its famous landmarks, but to discover its hidden treasures and learn to navigate it like a local.

The upper is cut from a handwoven silk velvet carpet. Silk velvet is one of the most prized textiles in Turkish weaving. Its dense silk pile catches the light with a natural luster, feels exceptionally soft to the touch, and deepens in character with age. Carpets like this were made to be treasured, and each one represents hours of skilled handwork.

Our artisans cut every panel by hand, placing each piece to showcase the rug's best design and protect the integrity of the vintage material. Because every carpet is different, and every shoe comes from a different section of it, no two pairs will ever be the same. Yours is truly one of a kind.

THE PROCESS

Frequently Asked *Questions*

How do I know what size to order?

We recommend measuring your foot and comparing your measurement with our SIZE GUIDE before placing your order. For the most accurate fit, measure both feet and use the measurement of your larger foot when selecting your size.

If you are unsure between two sizes, our customer service team is happy to help you determine the best fit.

What is your return policy?

Each pair is handmade and numbered. Returns, exchanges and refunds are not accepted for ordering the wrong size.

Can I exchange my shoes for a different size?

Due to the exclusive and handcrafted nature of our collection, all international sales are final.

We cannot accept returns or exchanges due to a change of mind or sizing issues. Please review our size guide carefully before completing your purchase. Please pay special attention to each shoe model's sizing on the product page.

In the event of an error on our part—such as receiving an incorrect item, color, or size—please contact us as soon as possible. We will work with you to resolve the issue at no additional cost.

How will I know what pattern I will get?

You will not know until it arrives, and that is part of it. Each pair is cut from a handwoven Anatolian carpet, and the carpet decides the pattern, so we do not show or choose it ahead of time. Every pair is different, and none will ever be made again. Because each pair is one of one, all sales are final.

When the carpet ends, the run ends.

What is Anatolian velvet silk?

A luxurious textile inspired by the rich weaving traditions of Anatolia, combining the luminous character of silk with the plush depth of velvet. Each textile possesses its own distinctive variations in color, texture, and pattern—making every pair uniquely individual.
