208 Sokak — An Escape into the Wild

Istanbul is a city of contrasts. Within the same city, you can find crowded historic streets, bustling markets, and endless traffic, yet also discover places where the noise fades away and nature takes over. 208 Sokak, home to Platinum Park, represents that quieter side of Istanbul.

This is a place I have visited many times with my good friend Elena and her daughter, Dasha. For us, it was an escape from the city — a chance to leave the crowds behind and spend a day surrounded by nature, fresh air, and a slower pace of life.

Platinum Park offers a little something for everyone. There is food to enjoy, arts and crafts to keep children entertained, and the simple pleasure of being close to animals. Horses, deer, goats, and other animals make the experience feel worlds away from the busy streets of central Istanbul. It is a place where children can explore, families can spend time together, and adults can reconnect with the peaceful side of life.

For me, the memories of visiting with Elena and Dasha are what make this place special. It reminds me that some of the best experiences in a city are not necessarily found at its most famous landmarks, but in the places where you make memories with the people who matter to you.

That diversity is one of the things I love most about Istanbul. It can be historic and modern, energetic and peaceful, urban and wild. You can spend the morning wandering through centuries-old streets and, not long afterward, find yourself surrounded by trees and animals, far removed from the rhythm of the city.

Istanbul is as diverse as our sneakers. Each street has its own personality, its own atmosphere, and its own story to tell. 208 Sokak represents the adventurous, carefree side of that story — a reminder that sometimes the greatest luxury is simply having the space to breathe.

The upper is cut from a handwoven silk velvet carpet. Silk velvet is one of the most prized textiles in Turkish weaving. Its dense silk pile catches the light with a natural luster, feels exceptionally soft to the touch, and deepens in character with age. Carpets like this were made to be treasured, and each one represents hours of skilled handwork.

Our artisans cut every panel by hand, placing each piece to showcase the rug's best design and protect the integrity of the vintage material. Because every carpet is different, and every shoe comes from a different section of it, no two pairs will ever be the same. Yours is truly one of a kind.

Each pair is handmade and numbered. Returns, exchanges and refunds are not accepted for ordering the wrong size.

You will not know until it arrives, and that is part of it. Each pair is cut from a handwoven Anatolian carpet, and the carpet decides the pattern, so we do not show or choose it ahead of time. Every pair is different, and none will ever be made again. Because each pair is one of one, all sales are final.
